Jonathan and I drove up to NH for a snowy hike up Pack Monadnock and across to North Pack Monadnock. This is a view of Mount Monadnock from the start. We hiked that in the fall... http://jaimie.acuteshoot.com/2012/10/mt-monadnock-nh-fall-hike/
Jaimie in the lead.
We were joined by our friend Steve.
And Steve's companion, Lupus!
Snow makes everything extra beautiful.
This way! We hiked up the South Wapack Trail.
Jonathan being creative.
The trail was pretty nicely worn in at parts by snowshoers so we made it through with just mircospikes.
Sun on a tree that didn't quite fit in with the rest.
Steve checking out the map.
An easy trail to follow, very well marked even if you were the first one up after a snow.
It took us an hour to make it to the top of Pack Monadnock.
Looking at Mount Monadnock from the top of Pack Monadnock.
Lupus was so excited to be there!
Climbing the fire tower at the top.
The very top was closed off but we still had great all around views above the tree line up in the fire tower stairs.
Boston, about 65 miles away.
Another great view of Mount Monadnock.
Steve on the fire tower.
Ready to continue on to North Monadnock.
Jonathan and Lupus.
You walk from the State Park into a Preserve.
Jonathan behind me.
Cairn on the top of Middle Pack Monadnock.
Little tiny snow covered trees.
Lots of long tall pines on this trail.
View of Mount Monadnock from North Monadnock. It took us 1.5 hours from Pack M to North Pack M.

Heading back to Pack Monadnock.
So different looking with the sun in front of us.
We had great weather and clear skies.
Trudging through the snow.
A fallen tree.
So pretty, you can't see it in this pic but as the snow fell from the trees the air looks like glitter.
Jonathan bringing up the rear.
Will he make it?
